Save the Maps website

Maps for Canadians mapsforcanadians.ca has been set up to inform map users about the Ministry of Natural Resources' plans to stop printing NTS topographic maps beginning January 2007.

New product: RefWorks

RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and citation management program that allows you to create your own personal database by importing reference citations from text files or online databases. For more information, check the Library's RefWorks webpage

The Library will be offering RefWorks instruction starting in October. Check the Library Instruction schedule.

CAG/Statistics Canada Student Award

The Canadian Association of Geographers/Statistics Canada Award for Research into Human Impacts on the Human Environment: this award is given to an undergraduate student in Geography and/or Environmental Studies/Science for the best paper examining impacts of human activity on Canada's environment. New product: Natural.Re.Source

Natural.Re.Source is a comprehensive database of legislation and public policy documents concerning the natural resources sector in seven Canadian jurisdictions: Federal, Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Yukon, NWT and Ontario. Of interest to those involved with energy, environment, climate, water, wildlife and forestry.

Jason from MediaLogic will be at the Library on Wednesday October 4th to conduct training on Natural.Re.Source. Sessions will be held at 9-10 and again at 10:30-11:30, in MLT 909. These sessions are open to faculty, students and IR staff.
